FD REVIEW : FROM MAVERICK TO YOSEMITE WITH MMM OK~

Recently, APPLE already give away free new improve OS for all Mac users. I own a MacBook Pro 13" almost 2 years. Before this, I already update the Maverick, now it's Yosemite turn. It take me about 5 days for me to download it because my internet at the office is very slow. I'm a very patient person hahahahah~ kinda?! but my friend ask me when I going to update the OS. Here I share some pictures AFTER! I finish download it [yesterday]; then came out a window show the updating progress;

It takes about 30 minutes for me to update to OS X Yosemite. Wallaaaaa~ I'm impress with the OS X Yosemite GUI. Sincerely, I was afraid to update because I read many reviews from other users said it make the MBP lagging a bit. But hey~why not I experience it till now, YES my MBP sometimes lag; maybe new OS?! [MAYBE?!!]. Here more pictures after the OS update; this is my MBP specification if you guys feel have questions or to do case study hihihihihi~.

Overall I like the GUI is simple, minimalist and straight forward [In my interpretation] but the performance of my MBP I have to accept it because I only have MBP 13" to do work.

Hello guys, this is now [TODAY!] I noticed when I turn ON my MBP, it open fast same with I turn it OFF [vice versa]. I think my MBP already adapt the new OS X Yosemite, hope it make my day wonderful. Thank You So Much Apple!

The first thing I do in the morning, I open my MBP is to open SAFARI>click Bookmark Bars BLOGGER: MINE>Taadddaaaaa~

FD TRAVEL : DIP 'N DIP MMMM~YUMMY!

Recently, me and my family [OH NO! I'm MARRIED! GOTCHA! hahhaah~] when this cafe call DIP 'N DIP CHOCOLATE SWEETS & COFFEE HOUSE or my way saying "Dip Dip". At first, I never heard about this cafe but my wife; she saw her friend when there via Facebook. She asked me "when can we go to this place?". One day, I told her this weekend "WE GO!" you know what?! before that I search this cafe, it a franchise. This cafe originally from Canada [click here]. The place we went were at The Curve Mall, Damansara, Selangor; another one is at Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

When we arrived, from outside it looks like just an ordinary cafe but the inside [WOW!]; the environment so cozy and spacious. We came early about 11 o'clock, not many customer so we can choose a perfect spot to sit down. I look around it very spacious with brown and red color theme. Here a picture that I took, sorry only using my iPhone 5 huhuhuhu~.

When the waiter gave the menu, I was surprise everything with chocolate. So I told the her; this is our first time so I asked her "what is the most POPULAR dishes here?". She told us taaaaddddaaaaa~ just look at the picture;

Brownies Crepe

A beautiful French crepe filled with brownies, topped with our signature Belgian chocolate.

Delicious puff pastry filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with the Belgian chocolate.

Dip 'n Dip Waffle

A classic waffle topped with a mix of fresh fruits and the Belgian chocolate.

The Richest chocolate drink ever, with micro chunks of real Belgian chocolate which will melt in your mouth.

Sincerely, I'm very satisfied with the dishes were suggested by the waiter because its LARGE [don't be fool by the pictures] hihihihi~. I try all and its so delicious with the creamy chocolate. Tell the truth, this is my first time I taste the Belgian chocolate; I only know in the tv only hahahahah~ I want to say Thank You So Much to My Lovely Wife for forcing me to went this cafe. Here I share my moments with my family here at  DIP 'N DIP CHOCOLATE SWEETS & COFFEE HOUSE at The Curve Mall, Damansara, Malaysia.

Last But not least, the price!!! hmmm for me, it's very expensive; It's okay to eat once in a month at here. Maybe after this, I just order only 2 dishes and bring a bottle of mineral water in the bag [the chocolate is sssoooooo ssswweeeetttt!!] hihihihi~. You won't be disappointed with the food here, EVERYTHING  HERE ARE SUPER MARVELOUS with Belgian Chocolate. ENJOY!

FD ARCHIVE : MY SELFIE

If you click here, you can read my post about "My Old Illustration - References". The word "SELFIE" is new in this world [I think], I mean before this I never heard it. Selfie means capture your own face then upload it in the social media [my interpretation]. I realize this symptom exist way back in 2000 because at that time, the famous social media; MySpace & Friendster were popular among us including me hahahah~well, when I create my social space; it required picture profile, then type your background then upload your pictures then bla~bla~bla~yada~yada....etc [you can imagine it!]

It was phenomenon this social media because its easier to connect with many peoples; besides that, you can get to know the girls [I'm straight okay!]. When you want to "tackle" a girl<---this word we use in Malaysia, its mean "get to know closer"; FOR SURE you have to upload your pictures, am I right?! Then come a lot of pictures of you [hello! don't be sacarstic! I know you upload All Day All Night] being like a model hahaha~ playing handsome, macho, sweet, sexy....you know! I feel funny when I'm think of it back! I can't stop laughing and feel ashamed of it. 

Ok! Back to my post, if you read the History of Art - you may realize SELFIE have exist way back. How the artist portrait a person but in many forms of -ism, I think it called 'selfie' but it take hours to draw it hahahaha~the person have to stand still so the artist can paint it to make it perfect. A slight of movement it may cause a disaster hahahahaahaha~

Today, I upload myself in term of selfie. The way I portray myself is using a mirror; I'm not a rich kid which can buy a camera digital. I will sit down on the floor, put the mirror on the chair and I make my face expression for a while; then I sketch it with my creativity and imagination. CAN YOU IMAGINE IT?! Here I show my Illustration.

FD PROJECT : MY CHILD STORY BOOK

Hi guys, its been a long time I'm not "blogging" huhuhu~. Recently, I'm busy doing a project where before this I have posted [Click Here]. Now, my project already done and I want to share with you guys. Even though this project look so simple in design but it takes my time to make it because my target audience is child from age 2 - 6 years. Well, I took my story book, show it to my son; he excited to know the characters, objects, colors and wordings. 

As designer, I felt so relieve because the objective has succeed. My child story book is colorful and can attract the child to read it. So here are my overall design for this project. Enjoy!

I used 5 piece of A3 size papers to make this story book then I use laser printer : CMYK Colors. After print, I folded the papers turn into A4 size papers then I stapler it in the middle. Can you guys imagine it? hahahha~hope so; because you guys are creative in imaginative thing hihihihi~. Here the final product : Child Story Book. 

If you guys want to read it maybe you don't understand because the language that I'm using is Malay Language. It is common in my country to use this language because it is national  language in Malaysia. But, as a designer who knows about marketing; if I want to published it [IF, hopefully] I have to do in many language so that you guys from others country can read this child story book.

I really like doing Digital Illustration in vector because its so cute and easy to understand. I have a symptom called "vectorism" [new word, I think!] haahah~hope you guys enjoy!

  

FD PROJECT : EXEMPLARY STORY BOOK KIDS

Hi guys, yesterday I post about My Od Illustration and I promise to post more on that [ONHOLD] today, I have new things to share with you all. Recently, I have brief my students doing project's semester on "exemplary story book kids" with a twist. Do you know about The Lego Movie? Click Here. Well as you know, inside me is still "childish" because I really love playing bricks. Even now I have Transformers in bricks version from Kre-O by Hasbro.

I like to create something ordinary because I don't want it to be main-stream so I give the task to my students to create the story book based on bricks. I want to challenge student's skills to do something new and make them more creative to think. 

As for me, I don't want them to feel I'm just a lecturer who just know how to give direction sooooo....I take the challenge to do the same with my own story [I took one from my student heheheheeh~]. Below is my "exemplary story book kids" and hope you can enjoy what to come in the next 1 month. 

The Carpenters Story 

At one time, there were a carpenter aging. He plans to retire from his job as a carpenter who is responsible for making a home in a construction company. In his mind again, with less energy, he wants to spend the rest of his life with his family. Carpenter will not accept more wages if he retires. But, he remains with the results. Then, a carpenter, told his employer of his intention. When his employer listened to an experienced carpenter, he felt sad and persuade carpenter is to withdraw the decision. But the carpenter was not budge and remained with the intent to retire. Finally, the employer agrees with the results of a carpenter, but with one condition. The last request of his employer is ask the carpenter to build a house for the last time. Carpenter was delighted and agreed to the terms set by the employer. But, happily for retirement over the spirit and skill shown during the work. As a result, the house built for the last time it was completed with casually, without specific research and use of low-quality wood. The house was completed in a short period of time. When employers look at the house, she took home the main door lock and gave it to the carpenter and said, "This is my retirement gift to you. Congratulations to retire." Carpenter was shocked by the words of his employer. He did not think that the house that he built for the last time it was the home for his own use. Would regretted him for completing the house in a hurry and if he knew before, he will build a house with the utmost care and use of high quality materials. 

Okay guys, how's the story? Really good? I think YES because its remind me to work professionally even its the last job you ever had. Now, I want to share with you guys the characters with face expression in this story which I think suitable.

This is how I imagine the Old Carpenter's character. I search and refer to this Lego human figure from Google [Thank You! for saving my time to search it]. In my life, I never bought any product from LEGO yet but if I do, I would tell you hihihihi~.

[Copy/Paste] This is how I imagine The Boss. Is he looks wealthy enough? huhuhuhu~. Next is Old Carpenter's Family, although his family just a glimpse but I think it should be visualize so that the children can know who are carpenter's family. We have think creatively and critically so that in the end, we not to be blame or do work twice for nothing. FOCUS is important as designer.

For me, I really love to do this kinda project because its give me more option to explore in the world of illustration, maybe I can be a pioneer to something new. It also help the students to know more tools/plug-in and etc in Adobe Illustration. Upcoming post I will post on progress of this project where this goes.
